Want to upgrade your closet but are too pressed for time to hit the mall? Do you get bored easily and want variety in your wardrobe? Welcome to the wonderful world of online fashion services. These clothing subscription sites and their savvy online stylists allow you to get your fashion on while still lounging in your pajamas.

Note: All these services improve with your feedback, so if your first box isn’t a smash hit, let your stylists know, and they’ll improve over time.

Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix

Behemoth Stitch Fix seems to have found the magic formula for building a successful online business (raking in $730 million in business in one year!). The company has more than 3,400 stylists working for them, and their wisdom, along with the kind of smart, data-driven algorithms Silicon Valley does best, means the company can really figure out what you want and deliver it.

Stitch Fix offers trendy lines (like Kut From The Kloth, Eloquii, Joie, Gorjana and Citizens of Humanity) and for those who are interested, higher-end labels, too, including Kate Spade, Rebecca Minkoff and Equipment. Get started by filling out your profile, sharing your budget, taste and measurements, and they’ll select five pieces to send to you. Keep what you want, and return the rest.

Cost: You are charged a $20 styling fee, which will be applied as a credit toward anything you keep from your shipment. Shipping is free both ways. Stitch Fix says its average price point is $55 per item, but that they “carry a wide variety of prices,”  so be upfront about your budget when you’re filling out your style profile, and Stitch Fix will work with you.

Save: Get $1 cash back on purchases of $20 at Stitch Fix.

Schedule: No subscription is required but, if you want, you are welcome to schedule automatic deliveries with the frequency that’s right for you.

Boxes for: Stitch Fix offers women’s sizes 0-24W and XS-3X and men’s sizes XS-XXL. Women’s maternity and petite sizes are available, too.

Bonus: Buy everything in your box? Get a 25% discount on the price of the entire shipment.

Best for: Fashion-forward types who love the myriad of choices of, say, outlet shopping but without the endless slog from shop to shop.

Le Tote

Le Tote Subscription Box

Le Tote is one of the more popular clothing subscription services. How it works is that you fill out a style profile, add items you like to “your closet,” and then wait for Le Tote to style your tote based on your profile and selections. The nice part is that you get the final say on what is sent to you. If you don’t like what Le Tote has selected, you can swap or add items before your box ships.

Cost: The plans start at $59 a month for three clothing items and two accessories and go up to $79 a month for five clothing items and three accessories. If you receive something in your box that you want to keep, hold onto the item, and Le Tote will charge your card.

Save: Take 50% off your first month of Le Tote.

Schedule: Totally up to you! You can wear the items of clothing as many times or as little as you’d like. Send items back when you’re ready. You can also get as many totes per month as you’d like for a flat price.

Boxes for: Women, and Le Tote offers maternity options

Bonus: Again, you get to customize your box at the end of the day, and you can get totes as often as you’d like. Priority shipping is free both ways, and Le Tote will handle the dirty laundry.

Best for: Those who want flexibility with their services and the ability to customize your own box.

Trunk Club

Trunk Club

This is a Nordstrom company, so the inventory consists of the brands you can find in its beloved stores. Trunk Club is the service for you if you’d like to work closely with a stylist without having to haul yourself into an actual brick-and-mortar store.

After you fill out your profile, you speak or chat with a professional stylist who curates a selection of wardrobe pieces they think you’d like—and that would work with your figure and lifestyle. They run it by you via email for a first look and pre-approval, and from there, they ship you your Trunk, you try it all on, keep only what you want, and return the rest.

Cost: Each box has a $25 styling fee, but it’s credited toward your final purchase. Shipping and returns are free. Trunk Club says its pieces run from $40 to $300, so what you spend can vary on what you’re looking for and what you like.

Schedule: Up to you! Order just when you want, or schedule a monthly or seasonal shipment.

Boxes for: Women and men

Bonus: That $25 styling fee is waived if you’re a Nordstrom cardholder. You also receive alterations for Trunk items at any Nordstrom and, like a Hollywood celeb, you can hit up your stylist for advice whenever you need it.

Best for: Quality-seeking fashion fans who want a trusted name—with its famously fantastic customer service—looking out for them.

RTR Unlimited

Rent the Runway began as the place to rent a fancy party frock for an event so you didn’t have to shell out a fortune for an item you’d wear all of once. That service allows its fashionable customers access to RTR’s collection of 450+ top brands to borrow and return as much as they’d like.

Cost: There’s a $20 styling fee for each box, which is applied toward any purchase in that box. Shipping is free both ways. Dia&Co says its average price point is about $55, but you can let the site know your budget, and your stylists will try to work with you. Size exchanges are free and unlimited; the company really wants you to find the fit that works for you bod.

Schedule: You can order a box as often as you’d like, or take a break and pause your subscription. There is an optional automatic subscription option.

YogaClub

Many fitness fans find motivation in wearing fun new fashion to their workouts. If you love shaking it up while you’re doing your downward dog, YogaClub is for you. Each month they send their members hand-curated yoga and workout apparel from high-end brands (Sadhana, Free People, teeki, Jala and more) based on the answers you give in your style quiz and the season (so you might score a tank in the summer vs. a long sleeve top come January). YogaClub say its prices are up to 60% off retail.
