Dinner out is always more enjoyable when part of it’s on the house. Some of the country’s top restaurant chains know this and offer free kids meals throughout the week—because we grownups need a little break.

We’ve found 10 restaurants where kids can eat free

Kids Eat Free Every Day

Bruster’s Ice Cream
Dessert is a meal, right? At Bruster’s, kids up to 40 inches tall (that’s just a bit over 3 feet) get a free baby cone—and there are more than 200 locations. With flavors like banana chocolate chip and red velvet cake batter, a baby cone may be all your little one needs to get a sweet fix.

IHOP
Pancakes with a whipped-cream face, a breakfast sammy or junior chicken and waffles … they’ll make you want to ask the waiter, “Don’t I look like I’m 12?” Every night of the week, from 4 to 10 p.m., kids 12 and under can have dinner on the house with the purchase of one adult entrée—which, because it’s IHOP, could mean breakfast. The only catch is that the “kids eat free” promotion seems to come and go at different times of the year. Check the IHOP Facebook page for the latest.

Before you flip into your plate of flapjacks, check for IHOP deals on your next meal.

O’Charley’s
Enjoy one free meal for kids under 10 with the purchase of an adult entrée any day of the week at O’Charley’s. Their kids menu, dubbed the “picky eater’s kryptonite” includes BBQ ribs, burgers and even a grilled chicken salad (healthy!). Parents can also get their fill of some delicious entrées like flight mignon or Atlantic salmon. Delish!

Take your picky eater to an O’Charley’s—don’t forget your coupons!

These are just a few of the free menu items available to kids 10 and under with the purchase of an adult entrée priced at $2.50 or more. The deal is good at most Denny’s locations every Tuesday from 4 to 10 p.m.

IKEA
Chicken tenders with a side of Scandinavian-chic furniture? We’ll take it! Hit up the bistro first to fuel your family for the shopping expedition that awaits—IKEA spokespeople say you’ll walk an average of 1.75 miles through the store. Get up to two kids meals with the purchase of one adult entrée, which includes options like salmon fillet and braised beef. Kids 12 and under can choose from grilled chicken, organic pasta or the house specialty: Swedish meatballs.

Kids Eat Free on Thursdays

Old Country Buffet
Okay, so technically kids don’t eat totally free—children ages 4 to 11 can eat for $1.99—but they do get free treats like cotton candy and ice cream! So, we’re including it. The deal is good from 4 p.m. to close, for up to two children, with the purchase of an adult buffet.

Thursdays are officially “family nights” at Old Country Buffet, which includes interactive events and learning opportunities (National Geographic and Amelia Bedelia are partners!). While the buffet menu changes according to location, you’ll always find favorites like mac and cheese, baked chicken and cornbread dressing.
